Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is the largest coalition of youth-led climate and environmental networks in Europe, representing 381 national organisations across 46 countries. Our mission is to connect young people and organisations across Europe to advocate for a just and green transition.
We are a young organisation that’s growing quickly, with both staff and volunteers working together to design and deliver projects that put collaboration, inclusion, and climate justice at the centre.
About the internship
This internship is part ofFunding Fairer Futures (FFF)— an EU-funded project that strengthens youth and civil society organisations through capacity-building, dialogue and financial support.
We’re offering a6-month learning placement(with an option for renewal of a further 6 months) for someone who wants tobuild practical experience in network engagement and event coordination within the NGO and environmental sectors.
This internship is designed as alearning journey. You’ll co-create a learning plan with your line manager (the FFF Project Manager) to ensure the work reflects both GCE’s goals and your own interests and development needs.

How we’ll work together
You’ll beline-managed by Josh Cope the FFF Project & Finance Manager,Josh has been working in the Youth Sector for 15 years and has a breadth of knowledge in organisational leadership, project management and social action. Josh will act as your mentor and main point of support. Together, you’ll agree on your preferred working style, check-in rhythm and feedback approach — so that the structure fits your needs and learning preferences.
You’ll also work closely with volunteers, communications leads and partner organisations, joining a team that values openness, collaboration and shared ownership.
Who we’re looking for
We’re not looking for a specific educational background. This opportunity is open to anyone withcuriosity, motivation, and a commitment to learning— whether your experience comes from formal study, volunteering, or community involvement.
You might be a young person looking to gain your first professional experience in the NGO or environmental field, or someone wanting to strengthen your skills in communications, facilitation, or event coordination.

What we offer
- A 6-month paid internshipunder aConvention d’Immersion Professionnelle (CIP)contract (with the option to extend by a further 6 months)
- 32 hoursa week,4 days per week(Mon–Thur)
- €1,400 per month
- Remote work from Belgium(you must have the right to live and work in Belgium)
