JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

  1. Category B Consultants: Tangible and measurable outputs of the work assignment

The Consultant is expected to deliver the following outputs:

  1. Initial deliverable – Confirm availability upon request by IOM to receive individual patient referrals – Confirmation expected within 24 hours of each referral request.
  2. Ongoing deliverables
    • Conduct Otolaryngology (ENT) consultations for IOM-referred beneficiaries, including necessary examination, diagnosis, and treatment.
    • Submit a detailed medical report for each patient immediately after the consultation is completed.
    • Submit a stamped and signed invoice for each consultation along with the corresponding medical report.

All deliverables are to be submitted by hand to the IOM medical team immediately following each patient’s visit.

  1. Performance indicators for the evaluation of results
  • Timely delivery of consultations as agreed schedule.
  • Submission of accurate and comprehensive medical reports.
  • Responsiveness to communication with IOM health team.
  • Quality and clarity of documentation and recommendations.
  • Positive feedback from IOM medical staff and beneficiaries.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • University degree in Medicine with specialization in Otolaryngology (ENT).
  • Valid medical license and registration in the country of practice.
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience as an Otolaryngologist.
  • Experience working with migrants, refugees, or vulnerable populations is an asset.
  • Ability to write clear and concise medical reports in English.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian medical protocols is an advantage.
Languages
  • Fluency in English and Arabic
IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
Travel required
  • No Travel is required for this consultancy.

IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
  4.
