JOB DESCRIPTION
Ethiopian Horticulture Producer Exporters Association (EHPEA) is a business membership organization which is established in 2002. It is an organization meant to promote the interest of its members who are engaged in the production and export of cut flowers, fruit, vegetables, herbs, cuttings as well as vegetable seeds. Currently, EHPEA has 120 members and it has been relentlessly contributing for the horticulture industry boom in Ethiopia and effectively representing the interests of its members locally and globally.
EHPEA is a key project partner for SRVC II as it is a business membered organization and represents private business actors in the horticulture sector. An assignment of expertise with international business experience will be very important because it pursues similar goals to the project and can therefore contribute significantly to achieving the project’s impact. The expert’s role is fully consistent with EHPEA’s mandate and priorities, particularly in advancing the shared goals and business interests of its members. This cooperation will ensure strong alignment, measurable outcomes, and effective collaboration between EHPEA, the technical expert, and the SRVC II project.
collaboration with the promotion and service head and the capacity building head
coordinate and support member participation in international trade fairs and exhibitions
analyze emerging market destinations along with current market trends and patterns
offer training programs for staff covering market standards, food safety and sustainable principles
arrange business to business sessions and buyer delegation visits
facilitating resource mobilization aligned with sustainability goals and long term impact.
Your Profile
Master degree in Agriculture, Agro economics, international business or international development
extensive experience in horticulture sector with international trade orientation
Proven expertise in market standards and food safety certification (HACCP, Global GAP)
Experience in coordinating business to business trade mission and buyer-seller events
Experience in ressource mobilisation and project management
Capacity to work with various partners from small holder farmers to international institutions as well as public national institutions and private sector actors
Previous experience in Ethiopia or at least in East Africa
