Develop Creative Campaign Concepts to Showcase UN Volunteers Impact in LAC

UNV - United Nations Volunteers

JOB DESCRIPTION

Organization Mission

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development worldwide through volunteerism. We work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated, and well-supported UN Volunteers into development programmes, and to promote the value and global recognition of volunteerism.

The UNV programme is active in around 130 countries each year. With a field presence in more than 80 countries, UNV is represented across the globe. The programme is administered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Context

Are you a creative mind looking to use your talent for something bigger than brands? At the Regional Office of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme for Latin America and the Caribbean (ROLAC), we believe creativity can spark social change. We lead communication efforts to show how volunteerism drives peace, sustainable development, and humanitarian action across the region.

Our priority is to showcase the power of volunteering in advancing peace, human rights, and sustainable development; to share UNV’s best practices in LAC; and to highlight the unique added value that UN Volunteers bring to UN teams and, ultimately, to the Sustainable Development Goals.

We are looking for Online Volunteers who want to put bold ideas and powerful storytelling at the service of purpose-driven campaigns—reaching UN partners, inspiring new volunteers, and giving visibility to the impact of volunteerism.

Key Responsibilities

The Online Volunteers will support the UNV ROLAC Communications Team by:

-Developing 3–6 creative campaign concepts (storylines, visual themes, or campaign slogans) to showcase UNV’s impact, best practices, and added value.
-Drafting storytelling scripts or key message documents that transform complex programme results into accessible, inspiring narratives.
-Proposing visual moodboards to illustrate how the concepts could be implemented across different channels.

Required Skills and Experience

– Solid experience in creative development or strategic communications, ideally in advertising, design, or creative studios.

– Proven ability to design creative ideas across different media and channels.

– Excellent conceptual thinking and storytelling skills in Spanish and English.

– Experience developing engaging and innovative content for campaigns.

Desirable (Nice to Have)

– Experience with nonprofit organizations, UN agencies, or social impact projects.

– Knowledge of campaigns for social change, recruitment, or public engagement.
