The position of Associate Investment Officer is assigned to the Trade and Supply Chain Division (TSCD) within the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD). You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.

You will report to designated International Staff and Senior Officer, as applicable.

As an Associate Investment Officer, you will support the Trade and Supply Chain Finance Program’s (TSCFP) middle and back-office operations. You will also collaborate with external clients, including large international banks and local banks across Asia, and different departments within ADB.

  • Ensure the swift and prudent processing of over 10,000 transactions valued at approximately $5 billion annually.
  • Manage daily transactions, including eligibility assessment, documentation review, and limit management, ensuring excellent response times and close coordination with TSCFP clients (partner banks).
  • Conduct discussions and negotiations with banks and other financial institutions in the region to foster business relationships with ADB.
  • Build close relationships with clients and counterparties, including partner banks, risk transfer partners, and other multilateral/bilateral banks.
  • Provide training to TSCFP partner banks on operational procedures, and general management tasks, including discussions with clients relative to use of lines and processing of transactions.
  • Monitor the participating banks’ financial condition and performance, and compliance with the conditions precedent and covenants under TSCFP agreements.
  • Support the TSCFP front office in the maintenance of limits for partner banks, including renewal of line, request for one-off limits, and waiver processing.
  • Perform operational tasks and contribute to the administration of the TSCFP.

Qualifications:

You will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting, economics, or related fields; preferably with advanced training.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the area of Trade and Supply Chain Finance or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience in trade finance and supply chain finance.
  • Strong client orientation and extensive experience in a client-facing role in a financial institution setting.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills, make pros-and-cons analysis, and analyze factors to reach a decision.
