In-Person Full-time at New York and may be adjusted based on the availability of the successful candidate The Internship is for a minimum of two months with a preferred start in May 2025 and is renewable for up to 4 additional (maximum of total six) months. The internship is designed to be full-time and in-person but may be adjusted based on the availability of the successful candidate. Duties and Responsibilities
- Research and test survey solutions for a standard global exit survey
- Research and contribute to a question catalogue for a standard global exit survey
- Assist in organizing focus groups with stakeholders
- Attending and summarizing focus groups and meetings
- Assist in designing the final survey
- Contribute to designing a dashboard to visualize survey results
- Support designing standardized reports
- Initiating and carrying out other assigned tasks/special projects
- Supporting communication efforts including the drafting of news articles
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Be computer literate in standard software applications, especially MS Excel;
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views. We are open to a broad range of educational backgrounds.
We seek candidates with:
- relevant coursework in business administration, management, strategic communications and
- design, project management, public administration, law and legal administration (criminal justice), or human resources management.
- We are specifically looking for candidates with experience in statistics, data visualization and survey design
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
