JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Protection and under the overall supervision of the Head of Office, the Project Assistant will be participating in information provision and operation and support of helpline

Key Responsibilities

  • Receives calls to the IOM Czechia helpline and provides transparent and truthful information and support to migrant callers.
  • Cover the informational request from the local partners, governmental institutions and field workers on referral pathways .
  • Keeps a clear record of cases assisted for further analyses of utilization of the service, maintains clients´ folders.
  • Keeps track of the latest developments and keeps record of new information relevant to the helpline.
  • Collaborates with IOM legal support.
  • Refers beneficiaries to other partners or institutions if necessary. Cooperates with the partner organisation on redirecting the incoming request for the specific request such as mental health and psychological support.
  • Conducts preliminary evaluation of needs of the beneficiaries.
  • Gathers and archives data, information and supporting documentation necessary for the project implementation.
  • Assists in preparation of periodic and final reports to donors, including filing and preparation of supporting documentation, in briefings, background information, narratives and statistical analyses as necessary and required.
  • Assists in service mapping activities.
  • Acts as an interpreter/translator in relevant languages if appropriate.
  • Actively participates in related events, meetings and trainings in the capital as well as in regions and implements the gained skills and knowledge in the daily work.
  • Performs other tasks and undertakes national travels as assigned

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Law or related field from an accredited academic institution, with two years of relevant professional experience

OR

High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with four years of relevant professional experience

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience

Minimum 2 years’ experience in liaising with governmental authorities, other national/international institutions, or NGOs;

Minimum 2 years’ experience with direct assistance to migrants.

Skills

Knowledge of Office 365 tools;

Communication with respect to cultural differences;

Effective time management;

Team work;

Punctuality in administrative processes.

Knowledge of work with Amazon Connect or other calling services is an asset.

Languages

For all applicants, fluency in English, Ukrainian and Czech is required (oral and written).

IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Indicative take home pay for this vacancy is 42.800 CZK per month.
