Our mission
Carbon Market Watch’s mission is to ensure that carbon pricing and other climate policies cut pollution and drive a just transition towards zero-carbon societies. Given the urgency of halting the climate breakdown, we want market-based climate policies to fulfil their promise and be used in a wise combination with regulatory and incentivising measures.

Purpose of the position
We are seeking a reliable, diligent and dynamic operations support assistant to help run our organisation smoothly and effectively. The operations support assistant will report to our executive director and liaise with the entire CMW team.
Tasks and responsibilities
HR Support
- Assistance with in-house recruitment processes (advertising, managing incoming applications, etc.);
- Practical assistance for onboarding and offboarding of team members;
- Interfacing with HR service provider and staff on queries regarding payroll and employment benefits.
Operations support
- Assisting with grant applications and reporting (EU and foundations), especially information and document down- and upload in online portals;
- Liaising with our co-working/office space provider regarding room bookings and ensuring preparations for team meetings (e.g. technical set-up);
- Ensuring the good functioning and the development of the in-house use of our digital cooperation tools, especially Monday.com and Google suite;
- Maintaining a suite of internal guidance and master documents and driving their periodic updates;
- Liaising with service providers (Proximus, Tribeloo, Nordpass, DocuSign, etc.) and managing service accounts;
- Managing the info@ email account.
Governance support
- Assistance with the conduct of board meetings and general assemblies;
- Processing applications for membership of our association;
- Maintaining the membership register.
Other tasks of a similar nature as required.
What we offer
- Starting date: September-October 2025;
- A one-year, part-time (0.5 – 0.6 FTE) contract with the intention of renewal to a permanent contract;
- A competitive remuneration package in line with Brussels NGO standards: salary starting from €1,623 – 1,947 (for 3 years of relevant experience) gross/month based on 0.5 – 0.6 FTE, 13th month, meal vouchers, mobile phone package, public transport monthly allowance, home-working allowance, five days extra-legal holidays and 4-5 days office closure at end of December;
